Social Media Outreach at Safe Harbor Presbyterian Hits New Peak

By TOM COCHRUN

Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church has made a priority of spreading the Gospel, inspiration, and messages of hope and love on social media and now is excited to share news from Elder Monty Rice that the social media ministry reached 96,000 individuals during the month of April.

The tabulation is based on analytics reporting unique views, responses, and forwards of Safe Harbor media on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.  These social media combine inspirational and devotional shorts that are produced from the daily devotional messages written by mentor pastor Eugenia Gamble and then produced by social media shepherd Wink Farrand.  The reel shorts also include clips of sermons delivered by Garret Andrew, John D’Elia, and Pastor Gamble at Safe Harbor worship services.

In addition to the daily reel shorts, thousands of responses include those who participate in the Sunday afternoon worship services via Zoom or Facebook Live, as well as later viewers at Safe Harbor’s YouTube channel, the Safe Harbor Facebook Page, or the Safe Harbor website.  The Safe Harbor website also is the repository of sermon study guides and the daily devotional readings.  Rice also reported that worship viewers extend across the United States and around the globe, with a concentration of global viewers in Africa and Central America.  Data on viewing of the devotional shorts show they are popular in urban areas across the United States.  Some of the content is directed specifically toward at-risk youth.

Safe Harbor worship is Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at 2700 Eton Road.  To obtain a direct link to the Safe Harbor social media sites or for information about the hybrid worship, send an email (info@shpres.org) or call (805-395-1521).
