News From Native Daughters of the Golden West

By CONSUELO MACEDO

A full contingent of officers and members of El Pinal Parlor No. 163, Native Daughters of the Golden West, met with members of District 23 for the official visitation by the State President, Rae Rosas.  The annual meeting and luncheon was held at the Madonna Inn on Saturday, April 13, with other Parlors from San Luis Obispo and San Miguel for the presentation of reports of business and finance as well as community outreach.

On Sunday, May 5, the ladies will be hard at work in a booth at Beautify Cambria Association’s Bee, Butterfly & Bat Faire to assist attendees in crafting their favorite paper May bonnets.  New this year are ready-made straw bonnets bedecked with silk blossoms and bows professionally handcrafted at a workday led by new president, Debbie Deis, at her workshop in Los Osos.  They and other materials will be available for sale just in time for Mother’s Day. Proceeds benefit the Parlor’s social outreach programs, especially scholarships.

Membership is open to women born in the state of California, and the group meets monthly by Zoom or at Santa Rosa Parish Hall (1174 Main Street).  For information, contact Secretary Tala Romero at (805) 610-4179, or Vice President/Community Affairs Consuelo Macedo at (805) 748-8651.
