Meet Tiffany and Pep Fernandez

By STAFF

Two of Cambria’s newest residents, Tiffany and Pep Fernandez are retired educators who wanted to spread their creative energy in a new direction.  When they landed in Cambria near the end of the pandemic, Tiffany’s first new path was to take over the management and events of the local Squibb Houses Historical Bed and Breakfast.

It is in this capacity that Tiffany and Pep have formed the Squibb House Players, an ensemble of local actors and theatre buffs who have already put on a few amazing events:  a Roast for Bruce Black, classic movie nights, Spirits of The Squibb Houses, and a Dickensian Night from which the proceeds benefitted local causes, the Santa Rosa Chapel, Coast Union Athletics, and the Cambria Historical Society.

They plan to continue to host events this year that will benefit local educational and non-profit organizations by planning several interesting and unique events.  In June they will hold an American Spirits Town Hall in which performers will portray spirits who manifest to tell their stories and deliver a positive message, and whose essences embody the very best of what America is.  Tiffany describes it as “… a celebration of the diverse and ever-evolving spirit of America”.  Other events planned for this year include a reading of the classic, October 30, 1938, radio broadcast of H.G. Welles’ War of the Worlds, a Dia De Los Muertos Weekend, and a reprise of the Spirits of the Squibb Houses in October, followed by a community Posada in December.

What is most notable about Tiffany and Pep is the creative energy that has surfaced in their work since the couple moved here.  In addition to their current responsibilities, they are expanding their ideas to encourage this creative spirit in the community.  Together they have co-created a wellness and fitness business, DreamQuest Fitness and Wellness located on Burton Drive.  It is here that Pep offers personal and group training sessions to the community.

Tiffany and Pep have other plans in the works, including using the DreamQuest space for hosting unique events from motivational to spiritual and wellness events.  These will include monthly Full Moon Community Circles with inspirational speakers and Rainbow Way Meditation evenings.

Both offer talents that highlight their present occupations; Tiffany is a certified health and life coach and catering events coordinator.   Pep is a retired varsity basketball nutrition coach, senior fitness specialist, and corrective exercise specialist with over thirty-five years of hands-on training experience.  For more information about the Squibb House players events, go to: thesquibbhouses.com.  Information about fitness options and community events at the studio can be found at: dreamquestfitness.com.
