First Baptist Church is Elevating Women in May!

By MARK BERRY

First Baptist Church’s highlights this month include ongoing monthly and weekly events geared to the women of our community.  On Friday mornings FBC women continue a new weekly event called Body & Soul on Fridays at 8:30 a.m. for a time of devotional encouragement, authenticity, exchanging recipes and ideas, and accountability to our own personal health goals.

Then, on Monday, May 6, at 9:30 a.m., FBC women gather at Sandy’s Deli for “Fill your Cup”, coffee and great conversation.  This is a monthly event on the first Monday of the month (Monday holiday excluded, in which case the event will be held on the second Tuesday of the month. Everyone is welcome and there is a gift card giveaway.  On the last Thursday of the month, FBC women gather for fellowship at “Busy Bees Sewing,” as the women cut, sew, sort, and package items for the new mothers and babies served by Memorial Christian Hospital in Bangladesh. The group meets from 9 a.m. to noon.

In addition, small groups for women continue to meet on Tuesday mornings and evenings, and high school girls meet Wednesday afternoons, both at FBC.  Sunday morning small groups that meet at 9 a.m. before the 10:30 service are open to anyone.  Currently the groups are enjoying a study called “Aleph and Omega”, referring to the first character of the Hebrew alphabet and the last character of Greek alphabet.  It is a series based on the Old Testament first book of Genesis and the New Testament last book of Revelation.  On Tuesday evenings and Wednesday afternoons men’s groups meet.

For Sunday services, Pastor Josh Lieurance will be continuing a series on First and Second Peter from the New Testament.  Coffee and refreshments are available before the service at 10 a.m.  Visitors are always welcome at FBC, located at the corner of Highway 1 and Ardath Drive.  FBC continues to stream weekly services on YouTube and on the church website. For additional information, including details on meeting locations, please contact the church office at: 805-927-4789, at: office@fbccambria.org, or visit the FBC website at: fbccambria.org.
