The Cambria Center for the Arts gallery committee regretfully announces that the exhibit, “It’s the Journey,” featuring artist George Scribner, must be postponed due to circumstances beyond control. In lieu of this exhibit, the CCA Gallery invites the talented community of Cambria artists to take center stage.
The CCA Gallery’s replacement show, “The Local Scene – Sightings Along the Central Coast”, will focus on the iconic locations and images of this colorful stretch of California’s coastline. The exhibit opens on January 7, and will run for seven weeks, through February 23. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, January 11, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. While this is not a juried show, ribbons for excellence will be awarded by a member of Cambria’s business community. Admission to the reception will be free and will include entertainment and appetizers. Wine will be available for purchase.
Submitting artists may choose from a variety of images, ranging from sweeping coastlines, to perhaps, a vintage signpost. Work may be rendered in any medium the artist chooses to celebrate this wondrous part of the world.
Submission guidelines can be found on the CCA website, at: cambriaarts.org/art-submittal-form. In short, artists are invited to submit up to four pieces each, gallery space permitting. All work that meets specified guidelines will be accepted. However, because the gallery is small and wall space limited, pieces that cannot be accommodated in person will be posted to the virtual gallery for all to enjoy. Art may be submitted for consideration online from December 30 through January 6, and delivered to the gallery on Exchange Day, which is Monday, January 6, from 10 a.m. until noon.
Remember to mark this exciting exhibit on the calendar, submit work reflecting the show’s theme, and bring friends and neighbors to the opening reception on January 11. If possible, please bring a special treat or a bottle of wine to share with our artist community and those who support them.
