The Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Santa’s visit at Cambria Historical Society Museum

By CONSUELO MACEDO

Thanks to the handsome firefighters from the Cambria Fire Department, Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived at the Cambria Historical Museum with lights ablaze to illuminate the town’s official Christmas Tree, which was splendidly draped with hundreds of fairy lights.  Santa stayed on for photos with many children and families  (only two were too shy) and chatted about their wishes before sharing cookies and candy canes provided by Cambria Historical Society docents.

The Holidays in Cambria was sponsored by the CHS partners at the Chamber of Commerce and began with festivities in the front yard with a visit by the animated Grinch, who joined in with Rebecca Hendricks and Judy Zaretzka as they performed carols on bells.  Later he went inside and “reconciled” with Santa!  A bevy of party goers enjoyed hot cocoa, which was provided by Chamber volunteers.

The Board of Directors and members wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.  CHS looks forward to the New Year 2025, as we plan for participation in January’s Art and Wine Festival, and February’s Annual CHS Recognitions Banquet. Please join members as CHS begins a great new year to convey Cambria’s rich legacy and heritage.

Cambria Historical Museum and Store are located at 2251 Center Street at Burton Drive.  The museum is staffed by volunteers on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.
