The 2026 Scarecrow Festival Season Is Almost Here

By SHELLEY HOLDEN

Every October, the Scarecrow Festival transforms Cambria and San Simeon into an outdoor gallery filled with creativity, color, and community spirit.  More than 200 handcrafted, whimsical scarecrows line the Village, Moonstone Drive, and Castillo and Hearst Drives in San Simeon—delighting visitors of all ages.

At the heart of it all is Dr. Crow—our fun-loving, supportive volunteer team that refreshes, repairs, repurposes, and creates scarecrows for the festival each year.  Everyone is welcome!  No experience or time commitment required.  The Dr. Crow Workshop is located at 2515 Village Lane Road, Unit K.
