All are welcome to join with parishioners of Santa Rosa Catholic Church during this Holy Season of Lent, in anticipation of Easter. On April 13, the congregation began Holy Week with Liturgy and Scriptures commemorating Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday in the parish church.
On Holy Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m., at the church, Christ’s Last Supper with the apostles and the first Holy Eucharist will be celebrated. During Mass, the custom will be continued of Jesus washing the feet of His followers, following His admonition to be a servant to others. The Blessed Sacrament will be retired to the Altar of Repose.
On Good Friday, April 18, at 11 a.m., parishioners will have a silent Procession with the Cross from the parish church through the village to the Historic Chapel on the Hill, followed by the bilingual Way of the Cross. After returning to the church at noon, the Stations of the Cross will be prayed in English.
At 1 p.m. in the church, the commemoration of the Passion of The Lord, and Adoration of the Cross in English will be observed. The service in Spanish will be at 7 p.m.
Easter Liturgies will be the bilingual Vigil Mass at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. On Easter Sunday, Mass will be celebrated in English at 10 a.m., and in Spanish at 12:30 p.m.
