The Cambria Sons of the American Legion (SAL) invites you to a special BBQ on Sunday, January 29, at Club 432 located downstairs at the back of the Veterans’ Memorial Hall (1000 Main Street). At the same time, enjoy the comradery of watching the AFL and/or NFL Championship games.
The NFC game (San Francisco-Philadelphia) starts at noon, and the AFC game (Kansas City-Cincinnati) starts at 3:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person, and tickets are available in advance at the American Legion Club 432, from any member of the Cambria Sons of the American Legion, or from Commander Smokey Drew (805-909-9773). Tickets also will be available at the door on the day of the event. In addition to the fabulous BBQ, each ticket will provide an opportunity to win a choice of a cruise or $1,000 cash, plus great door prizes. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win the cruise or the cash prize but must be present for the door prizes.
This is the sole SAL fundraiser for 2023, and the proceeds will provide many services to the community, including hot dogs at Hospitality Night; popsicles at the Pinedorado Parade; hamburgers and hot dogs at Memorial Day and Veterans Day celebrations; participation in the July 4 Picnic in the Park; as well as maintenance of the flags they post along Main Street and around the Veterans’ Memorial Hall parking lot for every patriotic holiday.
SAL is a great group of service-oriented guys, and they often organize additional dinners throughout the year as they become aware of community members in need. For more information, please send an email to jay@jayburbank.com.
