June 5–During the Cambria Rotary Club’s May 16 meeting, members were excited to hear from seven outstanding Coast Union High School students who were selected to represent our club at this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, a leadership training program for young people offered by Rotary International. The program aims to provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders, encouraging leadership among youth and promoting their engagement in their communities.
These young leaders joined peers from 70 other Rotary clubs in District 5240 for an incredible experience. Each student shared a personal story about the camp, highlighting how it shaped their perspectives and fostered growth. They revealed that the experience far surpassed what they had anticipated. Members found themselves laughing at the students’ amusing tales, and in one poignant moment, a few tears were shed, but they were the best kind. A big congratulations go to Luis Aguilar, Natalie Edmonds, Evelyn Gomez, Max Johnson, Teagan Kennedy, Jesus Sanchez, and Anna Schalk.
