Come enjoy this family-friendly celebration of Earth Day on Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Greenspace Creekside Reserve, 2264 Center Street in the East Village and discover how to help keep this community clean and green. Along with Greenspace, numerous local eco-organizations will promote awareness of Cambria’s remarkable forests, wildlife, coastline, and coastal watersheds. The event is free for all ages. No dogs, please!
Meet animal ambassadors from Pacific Wildlife Care. Tour the rare Chinese Temple and enjoy live music and storytelling. Enjoy demonstrations at the onsite Learning Center, including natural yarn dyeing with Annie from the Ball and Skein yarn shop on Main Street. Check out a variety of activities throughout the day, including movement classes in the meadow. Learn about local eco-friendly practices and resources. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, along with beer and wine.
Artwork submitted to Greenspace’s Earth Day Poster Contest for Cambria Grammar School students will again be judged by local artist John Seed. Discover their submissions and see who the winners are.
Returning eco-organizations include CA Fish and Wildlife, the Marine Mammal Center, and Beautify Cambria. Cambria Fire and the Cambria Fire Safe Council will be represented, along with the Integrated Waste Management Authority with tips on recycling and composting. New this year: Sea Otter Savvy!
Please join us. Admission is free, and donations to local organizations are encouraged – as are memberships signups. Now more than ever, everyone must take steps to protect the planet, and Earth Day is the perfect place to learn how. Please, absolutely no pets are allowed to keep our animal ambassadors safe and calm.
