Goodwill Donation Drive to Benefit Beautify Cambria Association

By CLAUDIA HARMON WORTHEN

Beautify Cambria is hosting a Goodwill Donation Drive fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, February 7 and 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Catholic Church parking lot, 1174 Main Street.  Beautify Cambria is in need of funding to create and maintain its many beautification and dark sky projects.

Most people have too much stuff.  The new year is a great time to clear out the new or gently used items that have gone unused and help to beautify our town. Please consider donating what is no longer needed or used, including small pieces of furniture.

Donations help people who are unemployed or under-employed gain new skills and find jobs they can grow in.  Donating no longer useful items helps preserve the planet by ensuring more items stay in circulation longer.

Here are some items that Goodwill will accept: clothing, shoes and boots, jewelry; hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves; books, records, CDs, videotapes, and DVDs; games, toys, and sports equipment in good condition; housewares: dishes, glassware, kitchen utensils, lamps, and small appliances; collectibles, antiques, knickknacks, and other giftware; hand tools and small power tools; domestics items like linens, curtains, and blankets; electronics, including but not limited to  CPUs, flatscreen monitors,  hard drives,  laptops, cell phones,  VCRs, DVD players, and working flat screens.

BCA could use help receiving donations, especially between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.  It is easy work and fun meeting new people and seeing friends.  Contact committee chair Cheryle Raiter at: cheryleraiter2020@gmail.com to volunteer a few hours’ time.

Thank you for helping to beautify Cambria through your donations to Goodwill! Questions about BCA’s Goodwill drive can be directed to: info@beautifycambria.org.
