May 1–This month will feature several avenues for making connections with First Baptist Church starting on Wednesday, May 7, when FBC will provide a coffee cart and homemade baked goods at both the Middle and Grammar schools as part of Teacher Appreciation Week.
May offers several monthly and weekly events for men and women. On the first Monday of the month (May 5, at 9:30 a.m.), FBC women gather at Lily’s for “Fill your Cup”, coffee and great conversation.
On Tuesday, May 6, at 9:00 a.m., FBC men meet for “Fill your Mug” at Sandy’s Deli, an opportunity to encourage each other in the faith over coffee. FBC men are hosting “Dinner for Dudes” on Tuesday, May 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. All men in the community are welcome – but please RSVP to the church office (contact information below), so the volunteer cooking team can plan accordingly. A donation of $10 is suggested.
On May 29, the last Thursday of the month, FBC women gather for fellowship at “Busy Bees Sewing”, as they cut, sew, sort, and package items for new mothers and babies served by Memorial Christian Hospital in Bangladesh. They meet from 9 a.m. to noon.
Weekly events this month include, the FBC women continue an event, Body & Soul every Friday at 8:30 a.m. at FBC. This is a time of devotional encouragement, authenticity, exchanging recipes and ideas, and accountability to personal health goals.
FBC has several on-going small groups that meet weekly, including Tuesday mornings and evenings for women; Tuesday evenings and Wednesday afternoons for men; and on Thursday an evening mentoring group for high school girls. A mixed adult small group meets every Sunday at 9 a.m., before the 10:30 a.m. service. This group is doing in-depth study of the Book of Acts that will continue until Labor Day.
For anyone interested in attending any event, please contact the church office at: (805) 927-4789 or at: office@fbccambria.org.
