On Sunday, March 15,, from 5 to 7 p.m., outstanding saxophonist Scott Martin will perform jazz standards, Latin jazz and his original compositions. Having performed with the great Latin jazz band Pancho Sanchez as well as currently touring with jazz/rock group WAR, he has led his own groups. Joining him will be Dylan Johnson on bass, Darrell Voss on drums and series producers Charlie and Sandi Shoemake.
Then, on March 29, also from 5 to 7 p.m., the Famous Jazz Artist Series presents the music of Stan Getz, who was one of the greatest and most popular saxophonists in jazz history. This concert will showcase both his famous recordings of standards and his important work with Brazilian jazz. Appearing will be Karl Welz on saxophone, Rich Severson on guitar, Dylan Johnson on bass, Darrell Voss on drums, and Charlie and Sandi Shoemake.
