The regular season for the girls and boys basketball teams at Coast Union High School ended last week. Both the girls team (10-3 overall, 6-3 league) and boys team (9-14 overall, 7-4 league) finished in 3rd place in the Coast Valley League.
Each team earned a spot in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section playoffs. This week the boys team hosted a home wildcard playoff game on Tuesday and won 56-36. This earned them a second round playoff game yesterday evening in Ojai against the Oak Grove School. A solid team effort, however, did not lead to a win with the final score 46 -39. The girls team is traveling to Los Angeles for a playoff game against Notre Dame Academy today.
The regular season for the girls and boys soccer teams also ended last week. Their last game was a home game against Wonderful College Preparatory Academy-Delano. The girls were victorious winning 1-0, while the boys game ended in a 1-1 tie. The overall record for the girls team is 3-7-1, and the boys finished with a record of 9-8-3. Neither team was able to make the playoffs as a freelance team this year, but hopes are high for 2023-24.
