Cambria 4-H Collects Over 400 Pounds of Food for Local Food Bank

By GALE FELDMAN

The Cambria 4-H youth recently led a community-wide effort to address food insecurity with its annual food drive, collecting an impressive 400 pounds of non-perishable food items for the local food bank.  The food collected will be distributed through the local food bank to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.  It is a substantial contribution to helping ensure no one in the community goes hungry.

As part of the initiative, the 4-H members creatively decorated collection boxes to draw attention to their cause.  These eye-catching boxes were strategically placed at five prominent locations in town: Cambria Smiles, Cookie Crock, the Cambria Community Health Care Center, Cambria Veterinary Clinic, and the Cambria Chamber of Commerce.  Cambria 4-H extends heartfelt gratitude to these businesses for their partnership and for allowing the collection boxes to be displayed prominently.  Their support played a vital role in the success of the drive.

Throughout the campaign, the youth worked diligently to spread the word, encouraging residents to contribute to the food drive.  Donations poured in from individuals eager to support neighbors in need.  The success of this project is a testament to the compassion of the Cambria community and the power of collaboration.  Cambria 4-H extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated and spread the word, as well as to the businesses that hosted collection boxes.

By combining creativity, effort, and a sense of purpose, Cambria 4-H continues to demonstrate the values of leadership and service that are at the heart of the 4-H program.
