After some much-needed rain, the sun is out, the weather is (mostly) clear, and the six tennis courts at Coast Union High School are squeaky clean and beckoning to tennis players. Several regular groups are going out to enjoy this great sport on these lovely courts, and other players are looking for games. If you are interested, the Cambria Tennis Club is the best way to get back on the courts.
The CTC was established in 1992 for the overall purpose of supporting and promoting tennis among club members, students at Coast Union High School, local residents and visitors. One of CTC’s responsibilities, pursuant to an agreement with the School District, is court maintenance and repair, which the CTC dutifully has fulfilled now for more than 30 years.
All tennis players of any level, or who are fans of tennis and have not yet joined the CTC are invited to join now. The annual dues are very modest — $65 for single or family. Dues go for everything from court resurfacing to purchasing squeegees to help players after a rainy morning. Students can join for free. A patron membership is $100 per year, or $1,000 for a lifetime membership. Members who are renewing can send their dues to the CTC at P.O. Box 1422, Cambria 93428 by February 1.
All tennis players regardless of age or level who want to get back into the game, consider joining members on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. for drop-in doubles. Everyone gets to play. Alternatively, get in touch and a member will try to make a match with another member of the Club for a game. For further information, including a membership application, check out the Club website at cambriatennisclub.com, or call the club at (310) 717-5187.
