Cambria is blessed to have six of the nicest courts in the world. Players travel to Cambria to play on these courts and stay in this beautiful town. But playing pickleball goes beyond the beauty of the location—it has many physical, mental, and social health benefits.
Pickleball can improve heart health and lower cholesterol. The sport improves physical flexibility, balance, and coordination. Pickleball can build and tone upper and lower body muscles. It can help with weight loss, help prevent osteoporosis and improve joint and bone health. Pickleball is less stressful on muscles, tendons, and joints than high-impact activities.
Pickleball can improve mood and mental health by reducing stress and anxiety, elevating self-esteem, and improving cognitive functions like reaction times, cognitive flexibility, and complex thinking. Pickleball can provide a great opportunity for socialization. Pickleball is easy to learn and not expensive to get into. There are so many reasons to take up this sport.
And anyone can sign up for a free lesson on Fridays at 9 a.m. Why not meet some new friends, be challenged by a new physical activity that is easy on the body and that has mental and cognitive benefits as well? Why not give it a try? Call Rich DeVega at (805) 574-0646.
The pickleball courts are located behind the building at 1350 Main Street.
