Local Jewelry designer Cindy Sassaman of Beryl Jewelry Design will teach the basics soldering at two January workshops for beginners, at the Cambria Center for the Arts (1350 Main Street).
The workshops are offered on Saturday, January 18, with one session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and another from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost per session is $90 for CCA members and $100 for non members. Registration and details are available at the center’s website at: cambriaarts.org.
Tools will be provided, and materials will be included in the workshop fee. Workshops will include basic torch skills, tool use, and safety. Each participant will solder and finish several rings to take home. No prior experience is required.
Cindy Sassaman is a local jewelry designer who has been leading workshops in Cambria, San Luis Obispo, and Los Osos for the past eight years. Her workshops are very popular and generally sell out, so early registration is recommended. All participants must be at least 18 years old, unless prior approval is given.
Cambria Center for the Arts is a nonprofit community-supported organization offering classes, exhibits, and performances year round for adults and children.
