June 5–The Central Coast Jazz Institute presents its annual spring fundraiser at The Harmony
Café (824 Main Street) Sunday, June 8. Talented members of the institute will be performing from 5 to 7 p.m. The performance will feature two pianists and an alto saxophonist from the current institute roster, Andrew Sedley, Brendan Houski, and Wyatt Willard, and also bassist Matthew Evans and flute virtuoso Talia Ortega — former students and now professionals.
Institute directors Charlie and Sandi Shoemake will also appear. All donations are tax deductible with a suggested donation of at least $30 with a $20 food and beverage minimum. All donations will help promising young students learn jazz music from one of the masters of the genre. Please make your reservations by calling Charlie (805) 935-9007 or via e-mail: charlie@talsanmusic.com. If those unable to attend but who would like to donate to the Institute, checks can be sent to the Central Coast Jazz Institute, 2010 Benson Avenue, Cambria, CA 93428.
