First Baptist Church Counts Down to Easter 2025

By MARK BERRY

This week concludes an especially important season at First Baptist Church, culminating with Easter Sunday – the most important day of the year for Christians.  Two significant services are planned at FBC focused on the reflection on Jesus Christ’s passion – his love for humanity that led him to endure crucifixion on the cross to purchase salvation.

On Good Friday, April 18 at noon, a reflection on the day that Christ was crucified and died for the sins of humanity will be observed at FBC as a joint service of several local churches.  This will be a simple contemplative service with readings from the Gospels interspersed with music.

Las lecturas de las Escrituras serán bilingües.

On Easter Sunday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m., a celebration will be held for the resurrection of Christ, his victory over death and the promise of new life for believers.  The service will feature special music led by the FBC Worship Team.  Invite friends and family; everyone is welcome!

This important month at FBC will conclude with two events on the weekend after Easter. On Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon, FBC women will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall for a special event called The Master Gardener. The morning will feature a tea and gardening presentation with pointers related to plants: planting, gardening, and design.  Please sign up in advance and be sure to invite a friend.

On Sunday, April 27, at 2 p.m., some FBC folks are planning a family-friendly bike ride from Shamel Park to Lampton Park and back.  S’mores will be provided for all participants at the end of the ride.  Any and all are invited to join the ride!  Bring a bike, helmet, and water bottle.

For anyone interested in attending any of these events, or would like more information, please contact the church office at (805) 927-4789 or the office@fbccambria.org.  Visitors are always welcome at FBC, located at the corner of Highway 1 and Ardath Drive.

Sunday morning services are held at 10:30 a.m., and Kid’s Church is available.  FBC also continues to stream weekly services on YouTube and on the church’s website.  For additional information about FBC, please visit the FBC website at: www.fbccambria.org.
