New Support Groups to be Offered at the Cambria Connection

The Cambria Connection is pleased to offer two new support groups to our community:  a Caregivers Support Group meeting on Monday, December 6, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and a Grief Support Group meeting on Monday, December 13, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.  Subsequent meeting dates will be determined at the initial meetings of each group.  The Cambria Connection respectfully requests that all attendees wear masks to the meetings.

Meetings will be held at the Cambria Connection which located in the Cambria Galleria above 1075 Main Street.  Facilitating both groups is Dr. Dennis Pezzato, a behavioral specialist.  Dennis recently moved back to Cambria after living in Hawaii for ten years where he worked with the Agency on Elderly Affairs, Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice, and the Cancer Society.

His responsibilities with these organizations included conducting support groups, providing caregiver and dementia education, and giving seminars on the aging process and on health and wellness.

Dennis currently is working with the Hearst Cancer Resource Center at French Hospital, Wilshire Hospice, and the local Alzheimer’s chapter.  For those not familiar with the support groups being offered, they are safe, confidential places to learn, share, and receive support during challenging times.  Dr. Pezzato provides educational, emotional, and strategic support for participants and their families.

Dennis is the author of six self-help books and a caregivers guide.  A project he has completed recently is an audio series called Facets of Life.  It is available on YouTube by typing “Dennis Pezzato,” as well as on his website at:  dennispezzato.com.  To make a reservation or for more information, call Dr. Pezzato at 808-346-8108.
