The University Women of Cambria (UWC) is inviting poets to submit up to two original poems on the subject of Cambria and its environs to be considered for publication in “Cambria Cadence,” a poetry booklet. Editors Donna Crocker and Ann Glaser, both educators and poets, propose this project to promote the art of poetry, the beauty of Cambria and, in the process, add to UWC’s scholarship funds for local students.
Almost any genre of poetry will be welcomed with the following caveat: long, epic poems will not be accepted; poems with non-family-friendly language will not be accepted; and poems full of typos and illegible words will not be accepted. Please do not submit previously published poems unless a written release from the publisher is provided. The editors reserve the right to edit or dismiss any poem that has been submitted. There is no remittance to the poets for their poems, other than the joyful sharing of words.
Entries are due no later than Monday, August 1. Each entry should be inscribed with the author’s name, address, phone number, and email address. Poets should write and sign the following words: “I give permission for my poem to be published in UWC’s ‘Cambria Cadence’ poetry booklet.” For more information or to send poems, contact Donna Crocker by mail (2192 Berwick Drive), by email (firstname.lastname@example.org), or by phone (805-924-1776).
