Pickleball continues to grow in popularity both in Cambria and nationally. It is considered to be the fastest growing sport in the United States.  Next week, the Pickleball National Championships is being held at Indian Wells.  Cambria Pickleball will have at least one (Gregg Whitfield) and quite possibly a second (Howard Vallens) competitor.

Cambria Pickleball meets daily from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. on six dedicated pickleball courts behind the Cambria Center for the Arts and the old grammar school (1350 Main Street).  Pickleball paddles are available to borrow at no cost.  The courts are open to the public for free in the afternoon until the earlier of dusk or 7:30 p.m.  The game is growing so fast because it is easy to play.

A new professional national league has been formed called Major League Pickleball (MLP) with 12 teams and owners including Labron James, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, and Kevin Love.  The vision of MLP is that pickleball makes the world a better, more joyful place.  Every person is a pickler waiting to happen.
