The November art show at the Cambria Library will feature the paintings of Marshall Lewis.  The exhibit will be on display from Tuesday, November 1, through November 30.

Paintings by Marshall Lewis include both paintings in oils on canvas and oils on wood panels with the wood grain exposed in areas to become part of the composition.  Lewis uses sculptural elements of mixed media to protrude in low relief to form a bond between painting and sculpture.  He has explained, “The possibility to fuse art and architecture with a single art form in an abstracted and organic way is a formidable challenge.  Combining these two disciplines in very abstract terms with the painted surface is an exciting concept for me as the artist.”  Lewis expertly combines these elements of form and texture with rich colors and creatively rearranges them into a concept of fantasy and a search for poetic possibilities.

The Cambria Library (1043 Main Street) is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
