With summer in full swing and Labor Day just around the corner, the community group Skate Cambria is making preparations for the upcoming Pinedorado celebration.  For this event, Skate Cambria will be participating in the parade and is encouraging all kids and lovers of wheeled sports to participate and show support for rebuilding Cambria’s skatepark.  Skate Cambria is urging all riders of skateboards, scooters, bikes, roller skates/blades, or any other skatepark friendly device to email Juli Amodei (juli@skatecambria.com) to learn more about how to be part of the float in this year’s parade.

Fundraising for Cambria’s skatepark continues to move in the right direction with the current total of funds raised at $501,000.  This money is being actively used to fund progress on the park.  In April, the Cambria Community Services District contracted the local engineering firm Civil Design Studio to work with the County Planning Department on permitting for the project, and this effort is expected to be completed in the fall.  This will be a major milestone for the project, as it will provide the green light to build, as well as to determine final cost estimates.

As permitting nears completion, raising the remaining funding needed to complete construction is critical to ensuring the project can move forward without delays.  With Pinedorado and several other fundraising opportunities planned for the rest of this year, Skate Cambria is confident the funding goals are achievable, and that the community is committed to seeing this project through.  With so much already accomplished, now is the time to get involved and help accelerate this project to completion.
