This weekend, the Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre (CCAT) presents a staged reading of Terrence McNally’s hilarious hit It’s Only A Play.  Revived on Broadway in 2014, the play starred Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, as well as a full cast of Broadway favorites such as Stockard Channing and F. Murray Abraham.

It’s Only A Play is full of zingers aimed at Broadway itself, poking fun of everyone involved, especially the critics. It takes place upstairs at a glamourous opening night party, while the guests await the first reviews of a new play.  Entertainment Weekly stated, “It’s Only a Play is a poison-pen mash note to New York theater, at once gleefully bitchy and affectionate.”

The staged reading is being directed by Lisa Woske.  Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings, May 13 and 14, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 15, at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets are available online (CambriaArts.org) and at the door.  All seats are reserved.  CCAT is located at 1350 Main Street.  For more details, visit the website at:  CambriaArts.org.
