Every year our local El Pinal Parlor 163 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West (NDGW) has gathered to celebrate the holiday season collecting clothing, toys, and non-perishable food for children and families in Cambria and San Simeon. This year, even though we will not be able to gather together as we have done in the past, we still are planning to continue our annual tradition of gathering clothing, food, and toys with a Holiday Drive-through and Drop Off.
The Drive Through and Drop Off is scheduled for Saturday, December 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Catholic Church (1174 Main Street). Donors can drive through the church parking lot and drop off items in front of the Parish.
The NDGW Order is a fraternal and patriotic organization founded on the principles of “Love of Home,” “Devotion to the Flag,” “Veneration of the Pioneers,” and “Faith in the Existence of God.” NDGW members statewide participate in various projects including providing assistance to veterans, advancing the restoration of missions and lighthouses, and supporting the Children’s Foundation which helps families who could not otherwise afford medical assistance.
