Each year the Rotary Club adopts children during the holiday season and provides them with gifts to put under their Christmas tree.  The kids fill out “Letters to Santa” listing what they would like for Christmas, usually toys, and what they need for clothing items and shoes.  Club members adopt one or more of the children and donate some, if not all the items they request, and then wrap and deliver them to Santa.

On Saturday, November 13, Miguel and Judy Sandoval organized just such an event in San Simeon.  The kids gathered for games, face painting, hot dogs, hot chocolate, and other goodies, as well as help from Rotary members with writing their letters to Santa.  A big shout out goes to artist Sara Blair-Field for spending hours painting kids’ faces, to San Simeon community member Jill Mauer for helping to set up and manage the hot chocolate bar, and to the Rotarians who participated in this event.

The Letters to Santa is a project funded through donations to our current Holiday Gifting & Giving Online Auction that support projects such as this one.  Please visit  the auction site at:  VivaCambriaRotary.com.
